Terry Vallance is the owner/operator of Tropical River Consulting. He received his Honours degree in Science from James Cook University, Townsville, in 1995. Since that time he has worked in as a hatchery specialist for the largest prawn farm in Australia and as a Senior Fisheries Technician for the Queensland Department of Primary Industries. His experience with electrofishing, fish biodiversity, natural resource management and sustainable farming practices for water quality spans more than 16 years. He is also known for his property access negotiation and remote field skills which are vital in Northern Australia. Terry has an established working relationship with a range of other consultants and environmental specialists, local and state government bodies, natural resource management groups and landholders. He works well with others and is constantly training and attending workshops to keep abreast of the latest information in natural resource management, aquatic ecology and electrofishing. Tropical River Consulting is based on Atherton Tablelands which is an ideal location for access to Cape York, the Gulf of Carpentaria and catchment areas close to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.
